Uniform

Totterdown Preschool uniform consists of a green logoed sweatshirt for winter and a logoed polo shirt for summer. Children are welcome to wear comfortable bottoms and shoes of their own discretion (that are suitable for getting dirty and moving around in). Open-toed sandals,heeled-shoes and boots are not suitable.
Our Planning

Along with our formatted carpet sessions, our preschool follows an 'In the moment’ planning child-centred approach; which encourages children’s natural desire to explore and learn. It’s about letting the children choose what to do, while adults join them in their play, observe what children do and support their development at the time of children playing. We provided an enabling environment, rich in natural everyday resources available to the children at all times. Each week we plan for a topic and devise sessions appropriate for our current children and their needs. Adults support play and teach through the childrens interests. At the end of the week, a blurb is sent on to each and every parent, along with photographs of what their children have been doing. Each individual child has their own next steps which are monitored by key workers. We encourage parents to play a part in the children progress and this is achieved through regular meetings.
